RE: Just Thinking
One does not need to Squirrel away money in a cash only account. Plenty of safe income generating investments out there. There’s no good reason to swap trucks now, except of course if the new truck bug has already got the OP by the nads.

RE: surge vs electric
Flat towing requires the steering wheel to be unlocked so the front tires can turn to follow the mh without dragging the tires. Backing up, the front tires will turn causing the car to go left or right unless, as mentioned above, someone controls the steering wheel. This can damage the tow bar and much more
Backing up with a tow dolly has the same restrictions as far as I know. The dolly wheels have to track with the mh.
If you feel the need to backup, get a flatbed trailer to tow your car. Be careful of your weights.

RE: Just Thinking
Keep the current truck. Squirrel away money in a new truck account over the next 6 years. When you retire buy the best truck you can for the activity you want to do. Or not.

RE: Support the slides?
If you put support under the slide, make sure main structure is solidly supported too. As far as supports floor jacks should work well. Make sure they are on solid footing.

RE: Goodbye RV.Net
Amazing that nobody can read anymore. REVAMPED, NOT REMOVED!
True, but some (me) have checked out the new site and are not impressed. The user interface style of the current site is just fine. A few features could be improved, mainly picture management. No need for a total redo. I’ll give it a try, but initial impressions are not encouraging.

RE: Transfer switch
I think what he’s looking for is a switch to output 120v IF available from source A, otherwise120v from source B.
In my mh I have 110v from converter (A) feed such a box (Xantrex ProWattSW). I have the 110v output from a 1000w inverter (B) also wired to the box. Output from the box feeds a standard socket. If the box senses 110v on from the converter it passes it through. If not it uses the 120v from the inverter. The latter assumes the inverter is actually on. Mine has an on/off switch inside a cabinet.

RE: Water tank has a drain?
Did it start draining as soon as you started filling it? Or only after tank became full? If it flowed immediately it may well be a drain tube or ……. On my motorhome if I fill the tank full it will start flowing thru an overflow tube to prevent bursting the tank or connections. My tank has a separate drain tube and valve.
Once the overflow tube starts flowing, it may flow for a while (syphoning) depending on how the tube is plumbed. Water may also slosh out of the tank while in transit. Some people do as you have done and crimp the tube to stop it flowing.
In any case that certainly doesn’t look like a factory job.

RE: BIG CHANGES ARE COMING SOON (Nov 15 2023)
I’ll guess I’ll be the first to say hate it but I’m just one. I don’t do FB, X, or any other “social media” sites. Don’t see the value of @‘s or #’s but seems to be a common feature. I like this site for its simplicity (except of course for pictures). But I’ll give the new site a try for a few days.

RE: Chassis warranty
Welcome to the “no dealer will touch it” club. It’s not just Dodge, most Ford dealers will not work on RV’s (especially the bigger ones), but there are a few. I have a class A on a Ford chassis and out of all the Ford dealers in my area, only one will even do simple maintenance tasks. All major stuff (which includes a lube!) I take to a major truck tire / Service center.
I’d call around to some of the independent service centers in your area and see if they will work on it, and can perform warranty/recall services for Dodge.
I ran into this same issue when I had a Winnebago Rialta on a VW front end.
Good luck.

Has the bathroom door swelled or is the frame no longer square? I’d check what happens if you level it.

You ordered a 2023 for a reason. You won’t be happy with buying the used 2022. Get the 2023.

RE: electric trailer
All electric? Wonder what that means when it comes to a Trailer
I gather it means "No propane" Electric stove/oven/range/water heater/cabin heat.
Not a good boondocker that's for sure.
I think it also means it has it’s own drive wheels to help the tow vehicle tow. Said it had a 300 mile range. Not sure how that works, but there are people smarter than me. (Can’t believe I just admitted that…)

RE: electric trailer
I know it’s early in the development, but I wonder what experience the designers have in how people will use a travel trailer. Off grid for 7 days is nice, but what’s the capacity of on board water, capacity for onboard grey or black water, how do you heat of cool the thing. With all that glass, cooling it anywhere other than in Canada might be an issue. No real mention of where you can store your stuff
How does the electric motors on the L1 sync with the tow vehicle, gas or EV?

RE: Black tank pull valves are leaking on my fuzion
I really have a hard time when manufactures design a system knowing the parts have to be replaced from time to time, so it requires a dealer/technician to replace simple parts.

Full-wall Slide-out 38 Operation
YEAR /
BRAND / TYPE
/ MODEL #
The intent of this Product Information Bulletin is to inform of the recommended operating procedure for all Newmar Product with full-wall slide-outs.
Product Information
In the past, Newmar has recommended leveling the coach prior to deploying the slide-outs. Although this is still the recommendation for coaches without full wall slide-outs, Newmar makes the following recommendation for coaches equipped with a full wall slide-out.
PLEASE REVIEW THIS RECOMMENDED PROCEDURE:
Motorhomes, as all vehicles, flex in travel. Flexing may be different due to terrain and the coach’s fulcrums (resting on tires or jacks). This is normally not an issue for coaches without a full wall slide-out. Although the jacks and the slide-out mechanism are both welded to the chassis frame, with a full wall slide-out, you have a large box (the slide), inside another large box (the coach) and they both flex, especially the coach. As the coach flexes, this movement is more noticeable in the outside reveal due to the wider slide-out.
Additional care should be taken once the coach is parked. Before operating the full wall slide-out, one should walk around the driver’s side and look at the “reveal” or “gap” of the two vertical wall trims around the full wall slide-out to make sure there is plenty of clearance so the trim will not rub when running the slide-out to the out position. If the gap looks good then the slide out can be operated. If the gap is tight in one or more places, try leveling the coach to see if that corrects it, then operate the slide out. If at any time there is cause for concern, do not operate the slide-out and call Newmar Customer Service.
PLEASE NOTE: Most often the gap will look best when sitting on the tires and not the jacks.
If you have any questions regarding this P.I.B., please contact a Warranty Service Representative at Newmar Corpo
